Job summary

Morrissey in Boston is seeking a Residential Counselor to provide an evening presence, perform rounds, and support tenant wellness checks.

The role includes upholding tenant rights, enforcing rules, crisis intervention, and coordinating maintenance notes. Training and daytime meetings may be required.

Requires a high school diploma and computer literacy; experience with behavioral health or homelessness is preferred. Schedule: Thu–Mon, 8:00pm–4:30am, with $2.00 shift differential for 11pm–7am.

SCHEDULE: Thursday Monday – 8:00pm – 4:30am

Pays $21.40 - $23.97 per hour DOE (Salary ranges provided are based on relevant experience and skill set)

Plus $2.00 (shift differential pay) for every hour worked between 11:00pm – 7:00am

LOCATION: 900 Morrissey Boulevard

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

The Residential Counselor will provide an evening presence, doing regular rounds throughout the building, being available to tenants as necessary, assisting with regular daily tenant wellness checks, observing and upholding the rights of tenants, overseeing occupancy agreement and house rule compliance, setting limits when appropriate, and providing crisis intervention as necessary. Counselors will contribute to the physical upkeep of the building by noting any housekeeping or maintenance issues that arise during their shift, resolving these problems where possible, and forwarding concerns to appropriate staff for later resolution when necessary.

Occasional daytime availability will be required for training, meetings and other obligations. This person will be an important member of a team, which has as its goal assisting our tenants achieve the very highest possible quality of life.
