Job summary

Cherry Health in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Coordinator, Residential Care to oversee daily activities in a residential re-entry facility. You will provide custody and security oversight, enforce policies, and ensure resident safety and well-being while documenting activities and supporting reintegration.

The role requires evening shifts (2nd shift, 5pm-10pm) Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with 20 hours per week and benefits eligibility. Minimum HS diploma and MI license required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license required.
• CPR certification required or must be completed within first week.
• Associate degree in Human Services or Bachelor's in Social Work preferred.
• Knowledge or experience in correctional science or adult treatment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient and intake new residents and inform them of facility rules.
• Provide guidance and assistance to clients with questions, problems, and concerns.
• Maintain detailed documentation of client activities and other relevant information.
• Monitor and track client activities on campus and in the community.
• Ensure all residents sign in and out and monitor traffic of clients and visitors.
• Conduct searches of facility and client belongings.
• Perform urinalysis testing and enforce substance-use policies.
• Conduct perimeter checks and client counts.
• Report any concerning events to the supervisor.
• Attend required staff meetings.
• Oversee residents’ medication administration and documentation.
• Perform pat searches and breathalyze residents as required.
• Distribute mail, meals, and transportation tickets.
• Transport residents using company vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the facility and rooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
