Job summary

Methodist Retirement Communities’ PineCrest in Lufkin, TX is seeking a compassionate Resident Care Assistant to join the team. The role focuses on providing support, building relationships, and promoting independence for residents.

Shift is 2 pm to 10 pm. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and caregiving experience; basic care skills and computer basics are a plus. Join a nonprofit devoted to aging with ICARE values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Two years of resident care experience in hospital, assisted living, or long-term care is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic resident care procedures.
• Basic computer skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate resident care under supervision of licensed nursing staff.
• Assist with routine care needs while promoting dignity, comfort and independence.
• Help residents adjust to changes related to illness and aging.
• Build meaningful one-on-one relationships with residents.
• Encourage participation in activities and help residents maintain interests, abilities and independence.
• Lead and coordinate engaging activities and programs.
• Assist the care team with developing and implementing individualized care plans.
• Bring patience, positivity and a genuine heart for serving older adults.
