Job summary

UBC is seeking a Sr. Reimbursement Specialist for an evening shift to support appointment scheduling and patient reimbursement workflows from a home-based location in the United States.

The role emphasizes high-quality customer service and collaboration with patients, providers, and payers. The ideal candidate will have 4–6 years in insurance/biotech/pharma, strong communication, and experience with prior authorizations, billing terminology, and escalations.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in the insurance, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel as required; primarily remote with some travel possibly.
• Knowledge of third party billing, coding, medical terminology, prior authorizations and appeals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct benefit investigations, verify insurance benefits for patients and physicians’ offices; obtain prior authorizations as required by payer.
• Enter and maintain data in the client database and monitor outstanding items on each case file.
• Participate in conference calls with Client Sales Representatives, client management and physicians’ offices regarding status of cases and drug orders.
• Coordinate orders for product, shipment, and therapy initiation with pharmacy and patient.
• Triage and respond to calls from patients, insurance companies, physicians, Sales Reps, pharmacies and homecare agencies; may serve as a single point of contact for an assigned group of prescribers.
• Identify and report REMS events and adverse events; forward information to the appropriate team member.
• Educate patients and prescribers about program requirements and facilitate referrals.
