Job summary

University of Southern Indiana is seeking a Closing Supervisor for the Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center to supervise evening staff, events, and programs. The role requires independent work and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities include risk management, scheduling events, overseeing the welcome desk and game room, cash handling, supervising student staff, and inventory and equipment upkeep. Evening hours and some weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Strong computer and software skills, including word processing, spreadsheets and email applications.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time-management abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Experience supervising or coordinating student workers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision to evening staff, events and programs in the RFWC.
• Develop late-night events and activities to increase student participation.
• Coordinate with Scheduling Services to schedule events and activities.
• Oversee operations of the welcome desk and provide information on policies.
• Oversee game room, inventory, equipment checkouts, and related transactions.
• Oversee locker rentals, guest passes and daily cash handling with reconciliations.
• Supervise and train student staff, organize work priorities.
• Monitor building and locker rooms; ensure equipment is maintained and stored properly.
• Assist with maintenance and inventory of checkout equipment and supplies.
• Compile data for reports and surveys; monitor timesheets for student employees.
• As needed, supervise intramural activities during evening hours.
• Perform additional duties during summer breaks and other periods as assigned.
