Job summary

PDI is seeking a Microbiologist II to join our Quality Control team in a regulated laboratory environment. The role involves routine microbiological testing of water, bulk chemicals, drug products and finished goods, with emphasis on data integrity and regulatory compliance.

You will train technicians, oversee testing procedures, and support projects related to microbiology and lab operations. A 3+ year background in pharma microbiology and knowledge of USP chapters is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or related science from an accredited college or university.
• 3 years of professional experience in a pharmaceutical microbiology environment or equivalent.
• Understanding of cGMP and FDA regulations.
• Knowledge of USP chapters related to microbiology: <60>, <61>, <62>.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine microbiological testing of water, bulk ingredients, drug products and finished products.
• Document results and report per procedures; ensure data integrity (ALCOA).
• Train/credential technicians and supervise data entry into electronic notebooks.
• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment; support LIMS and microbiology projects.
• Write or update SOPs to ensure regulatory compliance.
