Job summary

Home Market Foods is hiring a Quality Assurance Technologist for our evening production shift, Tue–Sat, 1:00pm–10:00pm with occasional Saturdays. You’ll ensure safety and quality across all products, performing inspections, sampling, and coordination with USDA & FDA.

You’ll work on HACCP, SQF, and GMP programs, train teams, and resolve issues in real time while collaborating with R&D, Marketing, Sales, and Operations. Join a growing company prioritizing food safety excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field OR 3+ years QA experience in food manufacturing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Ability to stay focused and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, climb stairs around production activity.
• Experience with HACCP, SQF, and GMPs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HACCP requirements, SQF systems, and food safety programs.
• Conduct pre-op and operational inspections.
• Collect micro, chemical, and product quality samples.
• Maintain communication with Production, Maintenance, USDA & FDA.
• Evaluate storage conditions and pest control checks.
• Assist with training on GMPs, HACCP, SQF & quality procedures.
• Troubleshoot food safety/quality issues in real time.
• Perform sensory evaluations (taste, smell, texture, visual)
• Support cross-functional teams: R&D, Marketing, Sales, Maintenance, Operations.
• Validate metal detection, thermometer calibration, and process control equipment.
• Participate in daily product cutting and plant-wide performance audits.
• Occasionally support weekend/off-hours needs.
