Job summary

Apple Valley Foods - US is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to perform quality control tests and inspections across production stages to ensure products meet food safety and quality specs. Schedule is 4:00 pm - 4:00 am, Monday to Saturday, on-site.

You will audit quality, support QA projects, train staff on cleaning and HACCP compliance, inspect ingredients and packaging, and collect data to drive continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s in Food Science and Tech or related field highly desired.
• Preferred 2-year degree in laboratory science, food technology or related field experience in food QA roles.
• Demonstrated knowledge of statistics, SPC fundamentals and laboratory skills.
• Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, Food Safety and SQF requirements.
• HACCP certification required or ability to complete.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Verify food quality and safety through auditing and reporting.
• Assist in expediting QA tasks and support for projects.
• Provide training to ensure food quality, safety, and specifications.
• Train employees on proper disassembly, cleaning, and sanitizing of processing equipment.
• Inspect ingredients, packaging materials, WIP, and finished product for specs compliance.
• Identify and report poor quality or potentially unsafe food materials.
• Conduct sanitation audits, GMP inspections, and HACCP data analysis.
• Collect, analyze, and report data; maintain QA/HACCP records.
• Document and communicate findings clearly; pursue process improvements.
