Job summary

Ottawa County is hiring for a janitorial position at the Ottawa County Jail in West Olive, MI. You will perform daily cleaning of public areas, offices, restrooms, and hallways, and ensure the spaces are neat and safe for staff and the public.

The role requires basic cleaning knowledge, ability to follow safety protocols, and teamwork to support county facilities. Shifts are evenings (4 p.m. – 10 p.m.) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Qualifications

• Basic cleaning techniques and routine methods.
• Knowledge of safety and bloodborne protocols; teamwork is essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean daily in public areas, offices, conference rooms, break rooms, restrooms and hallways.
• Sanitize and dust surfaces; vacuum, mop floors, and dispose of trash.
• Restock supplies and maintain a neat, safe work area according to procedures.
• Follow safety protocols and abide by county policies; perform other duties as assigned.
