Job summary

Givens Communities is hiring a part-time and PRN Safety and Security Officer to protect our Asheville campuses. The role focuses on access control, incident response, and safety drills across Givens Highland Farms and Givens Estates Campus.

You will respond to emergencies, monitor alarms, escort residents and staff, and coordinate with EMS. A NC driver's license, CPR/First Aid certs, and security experience are strongly valued.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certifications required or able to obtain within 90 days.
• EMT certification preferred.
• Law enforcement or security experience strongly preferred.
• Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification must be obtained after hire.
• Two years security officer experience preferred.
• Must have a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor emergency call dashboard and respond to alarms.
• Maintain active BOLO and trespass/RO notices.
• Manage unauthorized vehicles on campus and provide escort as needed.
• Assist EMS personnel with directions and support in emergencies.
• Investigate safety/security incidents and document outcomes.
• Conduct safety drills, including fire alarm training.
• Assist with campus maintenance tasks and litter removal.
• Provide security for staff and residents and assist HR matters.
• Respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as first responder.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
