Job summary

Givens Communities is hiring a PT/PRN Safety and Security Officer to provide access control, respond to emergencies, and patrol campuses at Givens Highland Farms and Givens Estates. Role includes light maintenance tasks and transportation for residents with flexible scheduling.

Requirements include CPR and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain within 90 days), EMT/EMR preferred, and a valid North Carolina driver’s license. Prior security experience strongly preferred; two years is ideal.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certifications required or obtainable within 90 days.
• EMT certification preferred.
• Law enforcement or security experience strongly preferred.
• EMR certification preferred once hired.
• Two years of security officer or similar experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor emergency call dashboard for alarms/alerts and respond accordingly.
• Reset Pendants/Pull Cords.
• Maintain information of active BOLO notices, trespass notices, and/or restraining order information for team member/resident concerns.
• Handle situations involving unauthorized vehicles not willing to exit campus.
• Assist EMS personnel and provide directions or locate residences during emergencies.
• Investigate safety and security instances and document events.
• Conduct safety drills, including fire alarm training in licensed areas.
• Support campus cleanliness by picking up litter/debris around buildings.
• Provide security for staff/residents and assist HR-related terminations when requested.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies after normal business hours.
• Serve as a First Responder to resident emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
