Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to join our team in Bethlehem, PA. You will administer medications, monitor side effects and support the therapeutic environment for residents.

You will observe and document resident behavior, monitor vital signs, and communicate with staff to ensure high quality care. The role includes charting, training new staff, and leading when leadership is unavailable.

Qualifications

• Mental health experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Must be able to work 3p-11p full-time with weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• administer medication and therapeutic treatments, monitor for potential side effects and report
• provide care in a manner that considers the patient’s rights, safety, comfort and the overall therapeutic environment
• observe, document and report resident behavior
• monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders and monthly for all residents
• communicate with co-workers and supervisors in a timely manner that affects patient care or well-being
• fillin resident charts
• assist in orientation and training of new staff members, understand, and implement Merakey policies and procedures
• order refills of medications,
• act as lead staff when the Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available.
• complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
