Job summary

Northwell Health's Sharon Hospital in Connecticut seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care within the psychiatric unit, following ANA scope of practice and collaborating with the care team.

The role requires CT RN license, BLS, ACLS by end of probation, and a commitment to safety and learning; shift is 6:45pm–7:15am with every other weekend, full-time, 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• CT RN license required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS by end of probation.
• Minimum of one year RN experience preferred.
• American Nurses Association certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient assessment and reassessment as clinically indicated.
• Document detailed information including plan of care, interventions and outcomes.
• Follows the five Rights of Medication Administration and assesses patients before medications.
• Coordinates and supervises delivery of nursing care and maintains accountability for delegated tasks.
• Promotes safety culture and conducts bedside shifts and rounds as assigned.
• Educates patients and families; documents teaching responses.
• Adapts care to diverse patient populations and maintains open communication.
• Meets accreditation, regulatory and compliance responsibilities.
• Pursues learning activities to maintain clinical and professional skills.
