Job summary

SUN Behavioral Columbus LLC seeks an Evening Mental Health Technician (MHT) in Columbus, OH. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under RN/LPN supervision, ensuring safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment in a psychiatric unit.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, CPR and de-escalation certification, and healthcare experience (CNA preferred). Applicants must be willing to work evenings and participate in CQI activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR and de-escalation technique certification required.
• Previous healthcare experience required; CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record and monitor patient vital signs and intake/output.
• Observe behavior and mental status; report changes to RN.
• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Escort patients for activities, meals, tests.
• Assist with patient safety checks and de-escalation interventions.
• Document in the EHR; participate in treatment team meetings.
• Support one-on-one observation for high-risk patients.
• Provide general nursing care under RN supervision.
