Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Production Department Supervisor to oversee the operation of the department, align with cost, profit and production goals, and train employees. The role relies on experience and judgment to plan and achieve department goals, with supervision by a manager.

You will develop methods, lead continuous improvement and safety initiatives, manage department cost and inventory, and participate in safety committees. Forklift certification may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
• 1 to 3 years of experience managing people.
• Proficient with production reporting and scheduling.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and other business software.
• Basic knowledge on lumber math, lumber grades and species.
• Forklift driver licensing/certification completed.

Responsibilities

• Manage production operation of multiple departments and shifts.
• Motivate a group of employees for maximum productivity.
• Identify, research and resolve problems and opportunities.
• Evaluate performance and coach employees.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and applicable law.
• Prepare reports and maintain records.
• Participate in Safety Committee and ensure department safety standards.
• May drive forklift to move material to and from the production area.
