Qualifications

• Requires associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related science.
• Certification as a technician within one year of graduation or hire.
• One year related medical laboratory experience preferred.
• Qualified to perform high and moderate complexity testing per CFR.
• CLIA General Supervisor qualification when assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs qualitative and quantitative laboratory tests in assigned sections per policies.
• Notifies physicians of critical lab values.
• Maintains QA/QC policies and documents QA/QI activities.
• Calibrates and operates laboratory instruments; maintains equipment.
• Prepares specimens for transport and handles specimens per OSHA guidelines.

Education

Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology

AMT/NAACLS/ASCP/ABHES-accredited MLT program
