Frazier Farms Market in Vista, CA is hiring a Prep Cook for the closing shift (2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.). The role supports daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and meals according to recipes, production standards, and food safety guidelines.

You will maintain a clean, organized work area, ensure quality and portion control, and collaborate with team members to meet busy evening demands. The job requires at least one year in a commercial kitchen, 18+, and a California Food Handler

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, grocery kitchen, or similar food preparation environment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age due to the operation of commercial kitchen equipment and shift requirements.
• California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to follow written recipes, instructions, and production schedules.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Strong time management, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with changing priorities.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cut, chop, mix, and cook food according to established recipes and production standards.
• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures at all times.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, utensils, walk-in coolers, freezers, and workstations.
• Receive, inspect, unload, and properly store deliveries.
• Rotate inventory using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) practices.
• Monitor product quality and report shortages, spoilage, or damaged goods to management.
• Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment in accordance with training and procedures.
• Maintain organized and fully stocked work areas to support kitchen production.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient food preparation.
• Provide courteous assistance to customers or team members when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
