Job summary

Frazier Farms Market in Vista, CA is seeking a Prep Cook to support daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and food items according to our recipes, standards, and safety guidelines.

This full-time closing-shift role runs 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with evenings, weekends, and holidays required, and offers weekly pay plus benefits such as medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) with match, vacation, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen or similar.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Ability to follow written recipes, instructions, and production schedules.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Excellent time management, communication, and teamwork.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cut, chop, mix, and cook food according to established recipes and production standards.
• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures at all times.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, utensils, walk-in coolers, freezers, and workstations.
• Receive, inspect, unload, and properly store deliveries.
• Rotate inventory using FIFO practices.
• Monitor product quality and report shortages, spoilage, or damaged goods to management.
• Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment in accordance with training and procedures.
• Maintain organized and fully stocked work areas to support kitchen production.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient food preparation.
• Provide courteous assistance to customers or team members when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
