Qualifications

• Must be able to cover 15-20 minutes from home office and arrange transportation to shifts.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology.
• Knowledge of therapy equipment used in therapy work.
• Knowledge of patient behavior and needs.
• Knowledge of proper strengthening techniques.
• Knowledge of restraints and aggressive behavior management practices.
• Ability to successfully complete in-service training.
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record conditions, reactions, and changes in patients' physical condition.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision of a Doctor of Physical Therapy and/or Occupational Therapy.
• Help treat patients by preparing heat and ice packs; paraffin dips; assist patients to the pool; guide patients through prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques.
• Ensure operation of treatment equipment by performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Educate patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
• Prepare patients for therapy by welcoming and assisting into sessions.
• Provide information to patients by answering questions and requests; alleviate fears.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Provide equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering to the treatment area; position equipment for therapist access.
• Prepare the treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures.
• Answer calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients with strong customer service skills.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and assist with ordering.
• Provide front desk coverage and schedule appointments as needed.
• Perform other front desk duties as required.
