Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Formalized Phlebotomy Training with 80 clinical hours and 100 successful unaided blood collections; substitution: 1 year phlebotomy experience in a CLIA lab may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections per procedure and policy.
• Label, process, and distribute specimens to appropriate lab sections.
• Access lab computer programs and enter patient data accurately.
• Provide instruction on proper collection techniques to outpatients.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and a safe work area.
