Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a PRN phlebotomy technician to perform venipuncture and specimen processing for patients of all ages. You will enter patient data into our systems, follow universal precautions, and maintain strict quality and safety standards in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities include handling samples per MUSC guidelines, maintaining supplies, decontaminating work areas, and participating in ongoing training and committees.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Phlebotomy preferred.
• Strong knowledge of privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality venipuncture or capillary service for patients of all ages with lab orders.
• Enter patient demographics and assays ordered into computer systems accurately.
• Process and handle specimens according to MUSCP/MUSCP-PC or other reference labs guidelines.
• Attend in services, meetings, and continuing education as requested.
