Job summary

Franciscan Health Rensselaer is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect blood specimens and perform laboratory office duties at our Rensselaer facility. The role includes registering patients, data entry into our computer system, and specimen processing for testing or referral to the central laboratory.

Experience in phlebotomy and knowledge of medical terminology are highly valued. A valid driver's license may be required, with potential travel to other locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required.
• Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and perform laboratory office duties.
• Register patients and enter data into the computer system.
• Process specimens for testing and handle waived and non‑waived POC tests as authorized.
• May act as driver and participate in on‑call rotation when required.
