Job summary

Franciscan Health Indianapolis is seeking a phlebotomy-focused laboratory support role. The incumbent will collect blood specimens, perform basic laboratory office duties, and process specimens for testing.

Responsibilities include patient registration, accurate data entry, and specimen accessioning in the computer system. Additional duties may involve specimen preparation for central or reference laboratories, handling of various specimen types, and performing limited waived POC tests as

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required.
• Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• May be required to travel/drive to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and perform laboratory office duties, including patient registration and data entry into the computer system.
• Prepare specimens for testing and for sending to central or reference laboratories.
• Handle blood, body fluids, and urine specimens according to established procedures and perform limited waived POC tests as authorized.
• May act as a driver and participate in on-call rotation as required.
