Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for the Burlington Hospital location (218 A Sunset Rd) to work evenings on a per diem basis. You will collect patient specimens, label samples, and prepare them for testing in a busy laboratory setting.

Responsibilities include pre-analytical processing, specimen verification and clerical tasks, with a strong emphasis on customer service. Requirements: high school diploma, formal phlebotomy training; ASCP/NHA/AMT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal phlebotomy training required.
• ASCP, NHA or AMT certification preferred.
• Prior customer service experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Patient identification, phlebotomy, specimen labeling.
• Specimen verification, processing, shipment and instrument prep for testing.
• Pre-analytic processes including registration and ordering.
• Provide excellent customer service and effective communication.
• Perform clerical tasks including phone calls, reports, and faxing.
