Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, specimen labeling, and transport across the hospital. The role requires accurate patient identification and adherence to vein preservation techniques, with responsibilities extending to QA and ongoing training.

The position supports evenings, M-F, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, with rotating holidays and weekends. A high school diploma is required, and ASCP/NCA certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Registration preferred: ASCP Registered; Certificate preferred: NCA Certification.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers and basic web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures, blood culture collection, and fingersticks with proper ID/labeling.
• Perform and report bleeding times according to SOPs.
• Ensure stocking of supplies and report needs to phlebotomy leaders.
• Transport specimens from collection site to testing site.
• Participate in QA, competency, training and continuing education.
