Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Lab Phlebotomist for the evening shift (Mon-Fri, 12:00 PM–8:30 PM) in Marlborough. You will perform inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy, enter orders, and support lab operations. Opportunity includes a potential signing bonus and a focus on accuracy and patient care.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, completion of a certified phlebotomy program, and preferred phlebotomy certification. Prior hospital experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate from a certified phlebotomy program or meet regulations 105 CMR 180.180.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Up to six months of on-the-job phlebotomy training.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient phlebotomy for all inpatients across units.
• Perform outpatient phlebotomy for neonatal, pediatric and adult patients.
• Enter laboratory orders into Meditech and related systems.
• Generate ABNs and provide patient instruction.
• Label specimens and ensure accuracy for billing.
• Collect specimens, prepare slides, and dispatch to UMASS Pathology.
• Assist with routine lab tasks and specimen processing.
• Occasional off-site phlebotomy as needed for clients.
• Receive and relay laboratory reports and communicate with callers.
