Job summary

Rochester General Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Outpatient Pharmacy. The position is part-time (24 hours weekly) with evenings and every fourth weekend.

You will support medication preparation, packaging, and delivery to floors, alongside maintaining documentation using the EMR and pharmacy systems. Ideal candidates may have 1 year of healthcare experience and a High School diploma; National Pharmacy Certification is required within 18 months of hire.

Qualifications

• National Pharmacy Certification required within 18 months of hire.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred; 1 year of work experience in a clinical, retail or healthcare setting may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Medication Preparation & Delivery: process and prepare medication orders; repackage bulk medication; round to floors; add drugs to IV solutions under sterile conditions.
• Documentation & Reporting: use EMR; run reports; access medication data; receive and store supplies; verify quantities.
• Maintenance & Sterilization: clean repackaging equipment; non-sterile compounding; prepare liquids, creams, ointments; ensure proper disposal of medication.
