Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Materials Management professional for the Burnet Campus. The position supports perioperative inventory, ensuring supplies, implants, and equipment are available for scheduled procedures. You will coordinate with surgeons, nurses, and vendors to maintain optimal stock levels and timely deliveries.

The role requires a high school diploma and offers a full-time evening schedule with 40 hours weekly. Prior experience in surgical supply environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review daily operating room schedules to prioritize supply, equipment, and instrument needs based on procedure type, case acuity, and surgeon preference cards.
• Collaborate with perioperative staff to review upcoming surgical schedules.
• Ensure required supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment are available before scheduled procedures.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of surgical supplies, implants, instruments, and procedural equipment in operating rooms, sub-sterile rooms, and designated storage locations.
• Replenish supplies using automated inventory systems, handheld devices, and established par levels.
• Process supply requests and orders through approved systems.
• Coordinate replacement of critical items to prevent procedural delays.
• Partner with surgeons, nurses, surgical technologists, anesthesia staff, vendors, sterile processing, and supply chain teams to support safe, efficient patient care.
• Communicate proactively about inventory shortages, backorders, and supply concerns.
• Serve as a resource for perioperative inventory processes.
• Assist with training and onboarding team members as assigned.
