Job summary

Cincinnati Children's is seeking a full-time Materials Management professional for the Burnet Campus. The role supports day shift operations, 40 hours per week, and a 1.0 FTE, focusing on timely access to supplies and equipment for patient care.

The position reports to the Materials Management department and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with opportunities to train others and improve processes as part of a collaborative team focused on excellence in patient care.

Qualifications

  • Experience with hospital supply chain is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize based on patient care and urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling - review daily team schedule to prioritize needs based on case location and items needed for care.
  • Supplies - replenish materials in designated locations and process orders via Pyxis, Nurse Supplier, or other systems.
  • Deliveries - unload inbound orders, coordinate outbound shipments, and ensure proper routing.
  • Collaboration - work as part of a team to ensure timely availability of orders and training for others.

Job Responsibilities
  • Scheduling - Review daily team schedule to prioritize needs based upon case location, acuity and items needed for care. Review tentative schedule for the following week in collaboration with the related staff to ensure materials, equipment, and resources are available.
  • Supplies - Replenish materials and supplies in designated locations, may include the clinical areas through the use of Pyxis automated refill orders, handheld devices, or par sheets. Process and issue orders in the computer system as needed including Nurse Supplier, phone, fax, ePro, walk up, and Pyxis orders. Issue credits to appropriate departments for inventory supplies returned.
  • Deliveries - Unload trucks/pallets, receive, stage, route and deliver inbound orders throughout Cincinnati Children's facilities. Coordinate the shipment of outbound freight and courier deliveries.
  • Collaboration - Work as part of a team in order to have orders and supplies where they are needed and when they are needed in order to provide for excellence in patient care. Communicate with and provide support to internal department customers as needed to ensure orders are processed efficiently. As a subject matter expert will be expected to train others.
