Job summary

Jefferson Health in Turnersville, NJ seeks a Generalist Medical Lab Technician/Scientist (Per Diem, Evenings) to perform and monitor a broad range of routine laboratory analyses under supervision, process specimens, and ensure accurate results for patient care.

You will operate LIS and analytical equipment, maintain QC records, participate in proficiency testing, and support education for students and new staff, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required in related field of Science.
• Experience: prior training in a laboratory setting (student training accepted).
• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens following established protocols and ensure proper labelling.
• Operate and maintain analytical equipment; calibrate and QC devices.
• Enter and verify data in the LIS; document results and quality control findings.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and take corrective action; participate in proficiency testing.
• Support education and training of other technicians and students as needed.
• Adhere to safety and regulatory requirements in the lab.
