Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta seeks a phlebotomist to collect blood specimens from newborns through age 21, using strong customer service and age-appropriate communication. You will perform venipuncture and related laboratory duties while supporting lean process improvements.

Evening shifts, Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:30 PM at 1001 Johnson Ferry Rd. Requires 2 years phlebotomy experience (pediatric preferred), HS diploma, CPR, and an ASCP phlebotomy certification or equivalent; hospital

Qualifications

• 2 years of phlebotomy experience, including venipuncture on newborns through adolescence and lab processing.
• American Society for Clinical Pathology phlebotomy certification or equivalent.
• CPR certification.
• 1 year of experience in a pediatric hospital.

Responsibilities

• Collect laboratory specimens properly and safely from patients newborn through age 21 using excellent customer service and age-appropriate communication.
• Perform blood collection procedures for a variety of tests (e.g., oral glucose tolerance tests, blood culture, transfusion medicine specimens).
• Perform sweat collections per CF Foundation standards and maintain safety with universal precautions and isolation criteria.
• Assist with clerical duties related to specimen collection and patient care and support lean process improvements.
