The position offers evening hours, Monday–Friday, with shift start at 12:00 PM and end at 8:30 PM, in a regular worker sub-type, focused on safe and accurate specimen collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ASCP phlebotomy certification or equivalent preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• 1 year pediatric hospital experience preferred.
• 2 years phlebotomy experience including newborn to adolescent venipuncture.

Responsibilities

• Collect laboratory specimens from newborns through age 21 with excellent patient service.
• Perform blood collections for a variety of tests and age-specific needs.
• Adhere to universal precautions and department policies for safety.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and protect patient privacy.
• Support lean culture by identifying waste and improving processes.
• Perform clerical duties related to specimen collection and lab data entry.
