Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks a Patient Transporter for the Muhlenberg campus. The role moves patients to and from clinical units and diagnostic areas, ensuring safe transport and accurate information flow.

Responsibilities include assisting with throughput, operating transport software, and handling equipment. Evening shift with weekend/holiday rotation, full-time position in a large, safety-focused hospital system.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Demonstrate the ability to provide a high level of customer service.
Compassionate, positive and upbeat disposition in interactions with customers/patients.
Ability to multi-task and take initiative.
BLS - Basic Life Support.
AHA - American Heart Association certification within 180 days.

Responsibilities

Transports patients safely and in a timely manner as directed by medical staff and policies.
Completes all training requirements and attends in-service education and department meetings.
Supports patient throughput and hospital capacity by using transport software.
Coordinates activities in the discharged patient holding area.
Handles portable oxygen cylinders safely.
Obtains transport equipment and documents assignments.
Performs equipment functions such as receiving, counting, stocking, transporting, cleaning and sanitizing medical equipment.
Takes excess oxygen tanks to storage areas and ensures proper holders.
