Job summary

Banner Health in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Nutrition Technician to provide patients with menu and tray/patient meal service. You will receive and forward patient requests and communicate with dietary staff as appropriate to ensure accurate diet orders.

The role involves overseeing the tray line, loading trays onto carts, coordinating deliveries to patients, and problem solving to meet schedules while maintaining food quality and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Reading, writing and mathematical skills.
• Understanding of nutrition services, common modified diets, and portion measures.
• Experience in health care nutrition services preferred; 3 years of related experience/education.

Responsibilities

• Visit patients to discuss menu selections based on diet orders and record selections.
• Process diet office edits and tally daily menu item counts.
• May lead in patient tray assembly and ensure presentation meets quality standards.
• Deliver meals to patient rooms and accommodate special requests as assigned.
• Interact with patients and families, other food service staff, nursing staff, and dietary staff with minimal supervision.
