Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the TH14E Medicine Unit on the Evening Shift (37.5 hours). The role involves assisting professional nurses with patient care, maintaining the environment, and supporting the unit’s safety and quality initiatives.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, PCT program graduate or CNA with additional certifications, and BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience OR CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy, PCT cert eligible plus 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry to the position.

Responsibilities

• Assists the professional nurse in patient care and supports unit safety and supplies.
• Contributes to data collection for Quality/Performance Improvement and patient satisfaction.
• Assists in admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures per unit operations.
• Maintains unit cleanliness and ensures equipment and supplies are present in patient rooms.
• Demonstrates infection prevention practices and a respectful communication style with patients and staff.
• Supports education and orientation for other patient care technicians and participates in unit meetings.
