Job summary

UMass Memorial Health - Harrington Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to join our team. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, specimen collection, and supporting licensed clinicians in patient care in a 32-hour weekly evening shift.

Under supervision, you will provide compassionate care, monitor patients, maintain safety, and help ensure efficient unit operations while adhering to hospital policies and standards of respect.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic Medical Terminology knowledge.
• Must be able to remain calm when under stress or in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations.
• Maintain constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assist in daily living activities and patient mobility.
• Help with treatments and procedures by preparing equipment and supplies.
• Observe and record vital signs and document measurements.
• Assist in specimen collection and lab transport as needed.
