Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to support nursing staff under the direction of licensed clinicians. Responsibilities include patient observation, vital signs, and assistance with activities of daily living in a fast-paced hospital setting.

This role requires non-exempt status, evening shift coverage, and a 32-hour schedule with opportunities for signing bonuses during recruitment.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients.
• Provides constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse or designee.
• Assists patient with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, ambulating, meals and nourishment.
• Maintains patient safety by performing patient safety checks, fall prevention, and following restraints policy when caring for a restrained patient.
• Takes and records vital signs and measures patients’ height/weight.
• Assists RN/LP with treatments and procedures by preparing patient and equipment; supports positioning and emotional needs.
