Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 800 hours of experience as PCT I and at least 6 months of inpatient/outpatient care.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and provide service.
• Problem-solving abilities for routine situations.
• Calm under stress or in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the direction of the licensed clinician.
• Communicates observations to the RN regarding patient changes.
• Assists with daily living activities and patient comfort.
• Maintains patient safety and uses de-escalation techniques when needed.
• Records vital signs and performs basic measurements.
• Assists with treatments and prepares equipment and supplies.
• Supports unit operations and replenishes supplies.
