UCLA Health is seeking a Hospital Laboratory Technician III within the Pathology Outreach team in Los Angeles. The role focuses on accessioning specimens, ensuring accurate processing, and serving as the main client contact to maintain excellent service levels.

Candidates should have a high-complexity lab qualification under CLIA-88, an associate degree in science or medical lab tech, and relevant training. The position may require after-hours work and lifting heavy objects.

Qualifications

• Must be qualified as high complexity testing personnel under CLIA-88 regulations.
• Earned Associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory or equivalent education and training with 60 semester hours, including 24 hours of medical lab tech courses, or 24 hours of science courses (chemistry/biology) and a clinical lab training program or 3 months lab training in each high complexity testing specialty.
• Laboratory training program ABHES/CAHEA or equivalent approval by HHS, or 3 months documented lab training in each high complexity testing specialty.

Responsabilités

• Accession and process primary specimens with accuracy and efficiency.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional customer service.
• Troubleshoot specimen and service-related issues to ensure seamless operations.
• Oversee and dispatch couriers to maintain timely specimen transport.
• Prepare reagents according to established protocols.
• Conduct precise data entry to support lab documentation and reporting.
