Job summary

Barnes Jewish Hospital – South Campus is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to join our patient-focused team. Perform specimen collection, handling, and clerical duties with emphasis on accurate patient identification and specimen integrity.

Experience in phlebotomy and proficiency in central processing or inventory tasks is valued. Requires HS Diploma/GED; BLS and Phlebotomy certifications preferred; Associate's degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• <2 years phlebotomy experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Phlebotomy certifications on file.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders and order tests in appropriate system.
• Perform phlebotomy with proper patient identification and specimen handling.
• Sort and process specimens in the laboratory and ensure specimen integrity.
• Coordinate multiple tasks, including STAT orders and workload fluctuations.
• May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
