Job summary

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is hiring a Lab Associate II to support specimen processing, clerical tasks, and phlebotomy as needed. The role is on the hospital campus in a Medical Office Building suite with BJCMG, offering a collaborative outpatient environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in a laboratory setting of less than 2 years is preferred.
• Associate's degree is preferred.
• BLS certification is required.
• Phlebotomy certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders and place tests in the system.
• Perform phlebotomy with proper patient identification and specimen integrity.
• Sort and process laboratory specimens and ensure integrity.
• Coordinate multiple tasks, including STAT orders and workload fluctuations.
• May perform registration, inventory maintenance and related duties.
