Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Safety Technician for the Float Pool in the evenings. The role is part-time (20 hours/week, 0.5 FTE) with an hourly pay range of $17.05 to $22.17.

The technician will provide bedside care, maintain safety, and monitor patients both on-site and remotely via video. A High School diploma and BLS certification within 90 days of hire are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Remains at bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Provides calming and reorienting conversation with patient in cases of agitation or confusion.
• Identifies and removes hazards from the patient and patient's environment, and reports as appropriate.
• May assist patient with activities of daily living, including ambulating, toileting, bed making, and positioning as delegated by supervising RN.
• Provides continuous safety observation via continuous video monitoring for patients at risk, offering basic comfort and addressing emotional needs within scope of role.
• Remotely monitors multiple patients via continuous video monitoring and provides verbal redirection, summoning staff via alert when appropriate.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

BLS certification within 90 days of hire
