Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is seeking Part-Time and PRN Direct Support Professionals in Manhattan, NY to provide person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

No experience required—the company offers PAID training and shift options for 2nd (4:00pm-12:00am) and 3rd (12:00am-8:00am) shifts. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, with competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to establish a supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks (criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
• Monitor health and medical needs and report concerns.
• Assist with learning and development of independent and community-based skills.
• Participate in community, social, and recreational activities with individuals.
• Drive individuals to medical appointments and community activities.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely.
• Build a support network by developing and maintaining relationships with community members, businesses, and families.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
• Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections, inquiries, or investigations.
