Job summary

Senior Helpers in Latrobe, PA is seeking a compassionate caregiver to support a male client at home. The role includes dementia care, evening and overnight shifts, and activities to keep him safe and engaged.

You will assist with bathing, dressing, meals, light housekeeping, and daily routines while maintaining a calm, reassuring presence. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of home care experience, a valid driver's license, and can pass a background check.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in home care, caregiving, or related field.
• Ability to pass a background check and provide professional references.
• Valid driver's license, car insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• TB test requirements: TB 2-Step or Quantiferon Gold (negative).

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and light housekeeping as needed.
• Provide medication reminders and monitor safety and well-being of the client.
• Engage client in daily activities and outdoor time to promote activity and connection.
• Maintain a compassionate, patient, and respectful care environment.
• Communicate effectively with family and supervisors to ensure consistent care.

We're currently seeking a caregiver with dementia care experience to support a male client. This opportunity offers consistent evening and overnights shifts. The client experiences sundowning, occasional confusion, and wandering behaviors, so we're looking for a patient, attentive caregiver who can provide a calm, reassuring presence while ensuring his safety and keeping him engaged throughout the day. Care will also include assistance with bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and other daily activities as needed. He enjoys spending time outdoors and has a pet dog at home, making this a great fit for someone who enjoys staying active and building meaningful connections with clients.

Caregiver Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in home care, caregiving, or related field (Required)
