Job summary

Clive Behavioral Health West is seeking a Unit Coordinator/Mental Health Technician for the outpatient unit. The role supports clerical functions, patient care coordination, and effective communication with patients, families and staff.

You will handle transcription of physician orders, maintain forms and patient packets, manage releases of information with HIPAA compliance, and assist the supervisor with clerical duties. Shift is 3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Experience with unit clerk duties and patient data handling.
• Understanding of HIPAA and privacy protocols.
• Professional communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintains supply and accuracy of all forms and patient packets.
• Communicates with patients, family members, co-workers and contacts professionally.
• Answers phone within 3 rings and directs calls and messages.
• Analyzes, interprets and transcribes physician orders.
• Files information in the medical record/hospital filing system.
• Ensures Releases of Information are faxed timely while HIPAA compliance.
• Completes the Census form daily for accuracy.
• Keeps department mailboxes organized and updates employee mail.
• Assists Supervisor with clerical support to meet unit needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
