Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Operating Room Attendant for the Evening shift. The role supports surgical teams by transporting patients from inpatient, ER, and ICU to the pre-op area, and by cleaning OR suites between cases.

Responsibilities include stocking anesthesia supplies, assisting with anesthesia equipment care, transporting specimens to the lab, and helping position patients under supervision.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED degree required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Prior Environmental Services or OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients from inpatient/ER/ICU to the pre-op holding area.
• Clean the operating room suites between procedures.
• Stock anesthesia supplies and assist with anesthesia machines cleaning.
• Transport specimens and blood products to/from the lab.
• Assist in positioning surgical patients under guidance of OR staff.
• Prepare the OR suite by opening sterile supplies and ensuring equipment is ready.
