Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham is seeking a Nursing Technician for a part-time, evening shift. The role involves assisting patients with daily activities, providing basic nursing care, and supporting the RN under supervision in a busy LTAC/med-surg setting.

The ideal candidate holds a High School Diploma or CNA certification (or equivalent), with a Nursing Assistant Certification preferred. Strong organization, teamwork, and basic computer skills are essential, along with familiarity

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED, or CNA certification, or equivalent related work experience required.
• Nursing Assistant Certification, prior LTAC or med/surg experience, or nursing clinical rotation, preferred.
• MOAB training preferred; BLS-AHA certification and First Aid training preferred, or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
• Experience with computers or familiarity with keyboard and typing skills.
• Familiarization with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic nursing care.
• Assist in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing unit activities under RN supervision.
• Follow the Nursing Care Plan and department policies for patient treatment and care.
• Observe patient conditions and document as required; communicate needs to the nurse.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and patient-focused environment.
• Demonstrate teamwork and professional communication with staff and patients.
