Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Burlington, MA seeks a Part-time Nursing Assistant for Evening shifts. Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide personal care, comfort and safety for patients, perform daily living activities, monitor vital signs, assist with meals, and support infection control and safety.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification. Reading, writing, basic math, and strong interpersonal skills are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and perform basic math with accuracy.
• Good interpersonal communication and patient-care liaison skills.
• BLS American Heart Association or Red Cross certification required.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients as delegated by the registered nurse and complete activities of daily living.
• Take and record vital signs and report unusual observations.
• Assist with intake and output, including specimen collection as needed.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under supervision or independently.
• Assist with meals and tube meal tray setup and feeding as required.
• Support safety and infection control practices in all patient interactions.
• Provide sitter support as needed for patient safety.
• Assist with orientation of new Nursing Assistant colleagues.
• Fulfill other unit-based duties to support the department.
