Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide patient-centered care and daily living assistance under the supervision of an RN or LPN. The role supports basic health care needs and involves documentation, specimen collection, and equipment upkeep.

The position features evening shifts (3pm–11:30pm), four 8-hour shifts weekly, with every other weekend and holiday commitments, in a rural US health system with a large service network. Salary range: $20.02–$26.21 hourly.

Qualifications

• Must be able to acquire basic knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology and equipment.
• Certification and registration with the Minnesota Board of Nursing Assistant Registry is preferred.
• Certification is required if designated by law (i.e. Home Care).

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities; bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation and dining needs.
• Administer delegated tasks and treatments.
• Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
• Will collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed.
• Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
• Prepare patient treatment areas for use; prepare and clean medical equipment; dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy.
• Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.
