Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tomah, WI seeks a Nursing Assistant.

The NA works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or health care professional and provides broad clinical support, patient care, and assistance with daily activities. Major duties include assisting medical personnel, preparing, ambulating, transporting and positioning residents, and delivering personal care such as bathing, feeding, and incontinence care.

Qualifications

• Six months of general experience or education or training as required by NA occupation
• Demonstrated KSAs including ability to provide patient/resident care and to communicate effectively with patients and health professionals
• Completion of an intensive occupation-related training course may meet experience requirements for GS-3

Responsibilities

• Assist medical personnel in the care or treatment of residents with diverse conditions/diagnoses
• Prepare, ambulate, transport and position residents
• Provide personal care including bathing, feeding, incontinence care and range of motion
